Imac 2021 Memory Slots
With the advent of the larger screens, Apple doubled the number of memory slots from two to four. Consequently, the maximum memory capacity was also doubled (to 16 GB), and for Intel Core i-series (27-inch), quadrupled, to 32 GB.

- The 27-inch iMac has four memory slots and comes with at least 8 GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 memory installed. The more memory you choose, the more apps you can run simultaneously with a higher rate of performance. More memory (RAM) increases performance and enables your iMac to perform better and at a higher speed.
- Among the moves the company has in mind: bringing back the SD card memory slot to this year's MacBook Pro. The upcoming MacBook Pro is an example of Apple’s renewed focus on Mac loyalists. The company is planning to bring back an SD card slot for the next MacBook Pros so users can insert memory cards from digital cameras.
This allows 21.5-inch iMac owners to max out their machines.

Professional Installation Highly Recommended. While this upgrade kit itself should not void your warranty, the installation process is very complex and thus it is recommended to be performed by a trained professional.
